As the race for the next Isoko South Local Government Chairman pick up speed, a non governmental and political pressure group, Concerned Isoko South Citizens for Good Governance,(CISCFGG), in Delta state has has described the aspiration of Chief Edo Prosper as a good omen for the people of Isoko South
The group made the call during their general meeting called to x-ray all the candidates warming up for the chairmanship seat of the council stating with assurance that democratic dividends shall be readily available for the people of the Isoko South Local Government if Prosper Edo is elected as chairman
In a statement issued to newsmen said, “Chief Edo is a grassroot mobilizer, a seasoned politician, who has demonstrated a high level of political tenacity in Isoko South local government Area”.
The National chairman and Secretary of the group, Comrade Omamode Akpoghene and Chief Benson Usiwoma while speaking to newsmen after the meeting in Oleh, headquarters of Isoko South Council urged the entire people of the LGA to support the aspirations of Chief Prosper Edo in the forthcoming local government election.
According to the statement, “The choice of Chief Prosper Edo is based on his past and present experience coupled with his vast knowledge in management and administration.We are urging the people of the local government area to support him irrespective of the political party he belongs.
“We must commend Isoko South Citizens for their team spirit in ensuring that peace and harmony prevails in the Local Government Council especially at this point the State and Nigeria are battling with this global coronavirus pandemic.
While speaking on the ambition of Chief Prosper Edo to contest the Chairmanship seat in Isoko South, they said, “Edo if elected, has the vision to focus more on youths and women empowerment programmes.
“With the choice of Chief Edo Prosper, special attention will be given to the efficiency of Primary School Education in the Local Government Area, and he will work together with leaders and elders of the local government to attract more dividends of democracy and ensuring maximum productivity in the Council Area.
